Congratulations to our partner Peter Spannagle of Your Custom Blog.
Peter was recently approached by Packt Publishing (UK) with an offer to author a technical manual on WordPress and Flash. The ink is dry on contract and Peter say’s he’s really excited to be making this contribution to the WordPress community. He’ll be co-authoring the book with Sarah Soward, a designer, Bay Area Video Coalition instructor and fine artist.

Getty Arts Journalism Fellowship Opportunity

The USC Annenberg School for Communication and The Getty Foundation this week announced applications are now being accepted for the eighth annual USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Fellowship. The program, which will take place Nov. 1-22, is a three-week, mid-career education fellowship for arts, culture and entertainment editors, producers and writers.
Applications are due July 14.
“The arts play a critical role in providing journalists with an understanding of people’s social, political, economic and psychological concerns,” said Geneva Overholser, director of USC Annenberg’s School of Journalism. “Arts journalism is vital to presenting a complete picture of the human experience. This program, evolving to keep pace with the many changes around us, nourishes journalism’s ability to paint that picture.” Read more
